TUSCAN'S CHI CHI DI BELLA VITA
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Chia Pet di Bella Vita
lt. fawn female huacaya
DOB:  7/2/10
ARI; 32147407
Status:  Bred to El Corazon` di Bella Vita for a 10/24/12 cria

This is a darling Tuscan Gold daughter who is growing rapidly and should mature early, a trait from her maternal line. She is a Cocoa Puffe granddaughter out of Chia Pet, a Res. Champ fleece winner who has maintained finness of fleece at age 4 despite being overweight and body scoring at about 9 with a 2010 AFD of 20.8, SD of 4.7 and CV of 22.6, with spin fineness of 20.5 microns.  She still has a 97.2% comfort factor.  Her fibers greater than 30 are only 2.8% and medulated fiberes are only 9.8%.  These are impressive numbers, especially since she was pregnant with these fiber stats and fat!  We love those alpacas at Bella Vita whose fleece is not influenced by outside environmental factors, and these characteristics are highly heritable!  That's part of what makes Chi Chi special.  Chi Chi's sire, Tuscan Gold, also maintains fineness of fleece with a 19.0 micron count at 6 years of age.  Chi Chi's fleece has an impressively soft, cloud-like handle to it with very good brightness, a signature feature from her sire.   It should be a dream to process.  We have priced her very competitively as we need to make room in the barn and trailer, and cannot keep every Tuscan Gold cria born here - although we'd like to!  They are total eye candy, and Chi Chi is no exception.  She has a solid frame, covered in gorgeous, bright fleece to her toes, level topline with upright, alert presence, and her sire's beautiful fully covered head.  Chi Chi comes from a dam line who are very easy keepers with quiet attitudes and easy to handle.  They have no issues with pregnancy or delivery and have ample milk to support their crias.

Update:  Chi Chi has grown into a beautiful yearling female.  She is good size now at 16 months and is breeding to El Corazon`, so Cocoa Puffe line breeding here.  Cocoa Puffe will show up in the 3rd and 4th generations on the future cria's pedigree.  These are great genetics to double up on. Imagine the head on the future cria with the head Chi Chi brings and that of the sire, Corazon`!  Chi Chi is relatively dense, but Corazon should add more density to the cria, increase uniformity and reinforce Chi Chi's nice staple length.  Chi Chi comes with a breed back that can be used on another female if you so choose.

Luna's killer fleece, fine at 15.3 micron as a yearling
SA TUSCAN'S LUNA DI BELLA VITA
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x 6Peruvian Susquehanna
DOB:  9/16/08
ARI#:  31229746
Pure white huacaya female (pink membranes)

Luna is simply gorgeous with fleece stats that are near perfect.  She has earned multiple ribbons, including blue at 2009 GWAS.  Long staple length, full of character and very fine, this fleece is pure white - no fawn spots.  Luna's micron was an impressive 14.7 as a cria and yearling fleece came in at 15.3 with low SD at 3.2.  More remarkable was her medullated fibers of 0.9%!  Add to this fantastic fleece her beautiful physical attributes, and you have a complete package.  She is well balanced, has good bone, is very feminine in appearance and has a calm, quiet personality.  For our goal of lingering fineness and elite fleece production, she fits the bill perfectly.   Her dam has a reputation for producing stellar crias, and we have sold her other siblings off the ranch easily.

Her beautiful fleece is being matched with her first breeding partner, Snowmass Alpine King.  This cria should be exceptional.  What a great foundation for a white line at Bella Vita!  She is available for sale but not at a bargain price.  Expect to dig deep in your pocket if you want this female on your ranch as we are perfectly happy to keep her here at Bella Vita.  We challenge you to find another female available of her quality with her fleece stats.

Fiber stats:
2009 (juvenile):  AFD 14.9
2010 (Yearling):   AFD 15.3, spin fineness 14.9, SD 3.2, CV 20.6, , fibers greater than 30 0.2%, medullated fibers 0.9%, mean curve 58.3, SD curve 34.2, comfort factor 99.8%.

SHOW WINS:
1st  (out of 12) - 2009 GWAS - Judge Cathy Merkley figured Luna out very quickly.  Kudos to her!
4th (out of 14) - 2009 MOPACA
6th (out of 8) - 2009 AOBA - This senior judge said 5 above her were finer - She was 14.7 micron.  Humm...
3rd (out of 10) - 2010 TxOLAN
3rd (out of 11) - 2010 MOPACA
4th  - 2010 GWAS, bred and owned yearling female.  She actually took the gate in her regular class, dismissed by a senior judge.  Astounding.

She is a PERFECT example of why the show ring should NOT be the major driving force for your breeding or purchase decisions. It also shows what is lacking or faulty in our judging criteria and judges' training.   She has walked at some shows in 2010 with her fiber stats and near perfect conformation.  Density was sometimes cited as a factor for her placement at the shows.  One judge actually said she was BY FAR the finest in the class, just not as dense as 1st and 2nd above her.  Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Chia Pet is a daughter of Cocoa Puffe who has produced  blue ribbon and champoin cria for us and dam of our multiple champion herdsire, El Corazon`.  Chia Pet has a reserve color champion fleece from the 2007 Fall Festival show with a micron of 17.5 and low CV and SD.  She has maintained her fineness at 4 years of age with a 2010 AFD of 20.8, SD 4.7 and CV 22.6 with comfort factor 97.2%.  And she is a "healthy" alpaca, easy keeper, body score at about 9 with this fiber data.  Love those alpacas who maintain excellent fiber stats in spite of environment.  They are true gems and the reason she is in our foundation herd.  She is a regal appearing female with a quiet disposition.  She produced a medium female cria, Chiquita, born 7/12/09, by the award winning, bay black Aladdin of KPR.   Her second cria is by Tuscan Gold, another medium fawn female, and was born 7/2/10.  Her 3rd cria is Chai Tea, a beautiful white girl, and is available at side in this package.  She comes from a line of females who have no issues with pregnancy, have easy, unassised births, and mature quickly.  Brother Corazon was breeding before 2 years of age.

As a cria

CHIQUITA DI BELLA VITA
Aladdin of KPR x Chia Pet di Bella Vita
ARI:  31754675
DOB:  7/12/09
Color/Sex:  Medium fawn female

This cute little gal is one of the densest crias of the 2009 crop.  She exhibits long staple length already in her short life and bright fleece full of character.  It has a soft handle, and she is fully covered from head to toe.  Chiquita has a very nicely shaped head, large soft eyes, femine frame but good bone, and comes from stellar genetic lines on both sides of her pedigree.  Her dam, Chia Pet, is a maternal half sister to our multiple champion, bred and owned herdsire, El Corazon` di Bella Vita.  This maternal line has been the best color producing line at Bella Vita.  The reproductive characteristics are what every breeder should strive for - easy pregnancies, easy deliveries, plenty of milk to sustain cria growth and developement and very attentive moms.  They are such easy keepers it make ranch life so much simpler.  We keep most crias from this genetic line at Bella Vita, so this is a rare opportunity to add these genetics to your herd.  The head honcho of this matenral line, Cocoa Puffe (Chiquita's matenral granddam) has produced 2 black/bay black females so far in her reproductive life when bred to light and medium fawn males.  Chiquita's dam, Chia Pet,  is a blue ribbon and Reserve Color Champ fleece winner with fine, low-mircon fleece (see her listing for the data).   Another added benefit of this dam line is that the alpacas are just down-right good looking with great heads, well proportioned with good bone, and long staple length to the fleece. Chia Pet's sire is MFI Capricorn, a blue ribbon male out of the well known Timoteo line.

Chiquita's sire is  Aladdin of KPR, a multiple champion bay black male owned by Front Range Alpacas and Heatherbrook Farm.  He has the distinction of siring many other award winning cria.

Chiquita is ultrasound confirmed pregnant to AROSA Tuscan Black, true black son of our own Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold, and full sibling to 6-time champion AROSA Dazzlyn, owned by Irish Meadows Alpacas.  With black in both paternal and maternal lines, the possibility is exciting.

Chiquita has not been shown.  She took a while to grow up, and we just plain ran out of room in the show trailer.  She has matured into a beautiful young female and will be a great addition to a ranch looking to add color genetics with fine fleece.

DOB:  10/9/08
Color/Status:  Lt. fawn, full Peruvian, 5/8 Accoyo
ARI:  3157792
Bred:  El Corazon, 2012 cria

Another striking Tuscan Gold cria and named after that sweet, light, bubbly Italian champagne, Asti has presence and style wtih upright carriage, level topline, and balanced proportions. Her fleece is buttery soft, bright, crimpy and consistent in style throughout. She possesses the same total coverage as her sire and dam, and she already has the formation of a spectacular head, just like her sire, with generous topknot. Her dam has a calm, even temperament and is easy to work with. Asti is her firt cria, and she had an uneventful delivery and has been a very attentive mom with good milk to support her cria, traits that should pass to Asti.

Asti's dam, Averanda, is a SA Peruvian Avenger (Royal Fawn) daughter out of Polar Princess, a Peruvian import who also resides at Bella Vita. Avenger sold at auction for over $400,000 and has sired many show winning alpacas. With all Asti has in her presence, conformation, style and fleece characteristics, she will be a good production dam, passing on her many fine qualities.
